George Hepton

Obituary of George Hepton

With aching hearts, the family of George Hepton announces his passing on April 26, 2021. George, or Tom to some, grew up in Weston Ontario. He was a mischievous boy, by his accounts and enjoyed summers with family in Gravenhurst Ontario. He was quite a good singer and sang in a trio up until he met Irene and started a family. We spent many fun summers at the family cottage in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Dad loved his family dearly, had a wonderful sense of humour and was young at heart. Dad enjoyed woodworking and made Intarsia pictures which were sold at Casey's in Sheffield, NB for years. He loved trips to the casino, bingo scratch tickets, cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs (or sometimes swearing at them), Superman, a good steak, KFC and Chinese food. He bought his wife, Irene, flowers every week since her passing in 2010. His life was full of laughter and love.

Predeceased by his father Earl, his mother Iris, a sister, Rilla and his beloved wife Irene. He will be forever remembered and loved by daughter Tami Crabbe and son-in-law Blair; son Jayme Hepton and daughter-in-law Theresa; grandchildren Shaun(April), Ryan, Matthew (Vira), Steven(Christina), Rob and Dave. He was GGpa to Jacob, Grace, Hunter and Mason. Dad was excited about the upcoming birth of Matt and Vira's child this fall. The more family the merrier!

Dad's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses at QNCHC for the excellent care given to Dad and to the extra mural nurses, Natalie and Sherry for the compassionate care given to Dad at his home. You all went above and beyond and I know Dad appreciated you all as much as we do. Special thanks to our friends Mike and Connie for all your support and kindness.

Donations to the Kidney or Heart and Stroke Foundations or to any charity in memory of George would be appreciated. At George's request, there will be no services or funeral.

Right-o Dad, til we meet again.
