To Mark and the entire Power family. I only just learned of Marks passing on Dec 23 and was so saddened to hear and to have not acknoledged sooner. Please accept my most sincere condolences. I have fond memeories of our working relationship at Point Lepreau. We shared some laughs over the years and while we may not have always agreed on some issues, he usually showed me the errors of my ways and we carried on. I had a great deal of respect for Dan and I'm so sorry that he will not get to enjoy some retirement years. I am sure the old boys will toast him during the the next camp trip. I will do the same at my next camp visit as well. God Bless.

It’s with great sadness that a good friend of close to 40 years has passed away, Dan was a person who could make you laugh with his extremely dry sense of humour, he loved anything to do with the outdoors, fishing , canoeing, four wheeling, making syrup and most of all hunting. We shared many a good times over the years and his passing will leave a void in our lives and our hearts.
Dan you were one of good ones and may the good lord have a special place for you now, rest in peace my friend.
Your Friends, Mike, Dave, Robert, Doug, Phil, Tim, Jerry, Julien

Hi guys
It's nice you all got together with one last successful Moose hunt this fall. Of course you were all know by your surnames to me and I've heard the names McGill & Rankin for many many years. Dan certainly shared many stories about your farm animal rearing adventures and hunting up at the "other" camp. Thanks for being his friends "boys"

To Dan's family: Former co-worker Pat LaPointe's memories
I first met Dan in the early 1990's when he was hired as a young engineer at Neill & Gunter Limited. I quickly took a liking to him and began mentoring him on the many aspects of his chosen craft: Mechanical Engineering. Dan was a "quick study" and very soon became an excellent mechanical engineer. In fact, Dan became a "go-to" guy at NGL as somebody who could always answer co-workers' questions.
Dan was a quiet man. In the six years or so that I worked with him, i never saw him angry or upset over anything. He was a great person. It is hard to lose a younger colleague, a co-worker and friend.
Good bye my friend Dan. I will miss you. Pat LaPointe

Our sincerest condolences to the Power family on the loss of Dan. As co-workers, he was known to us to be a man of intellect on a wide variety of topics (perhaps his favorite, gardening), kindness, and humor. We enjoyed his wry humor and knew him to be quick to smile and laugh. He will be remembered fondly by us and we are deeply saddened at his passing.

My father Patrick Lapointe worked with Dan at Neill and Gunter and they enjoyed each other's company. They would still have the occasional conversation, usually talking about pipe stress analysis or codes and standards, a favourite topic of theirs.
