Obituary of Joseph William Edward Heagney

The family of Joseph William “Billy” Edward Heagney of Minto are saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, May 15th, 2016 at the Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Joseph Edward and Doris (Farrell) Heagney. Billy is survived by his son, David Heagney (Stacey) of Westville, NS; his daughters, Marilyn Heagney (Kevin) of Iron Bound Cove, Linda Boucher (Donald) of Fredericton, Cheryl Heagney of Ontario, Gail Douthwright (Claude) and Joachlyn Grover (Tom) both of Fredericton; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; his brother, George Springer of Fredericton; a brother-in-law, William Cochrane (Judy) of Chipman; sisters-in-law, Margaret Murray of Fredericton and Debbie Filmore of Beersville, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Amy Matilda (Cochrane) Heagney; a son, Frederick Heagney; 2 grandchildren, Brittany and Mitchell and a sister, Jean DeLorey. In keeping with Billy’s wishes, the body has been cremated and no visitation or funeral service has been scheduled. The family would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to Mercy Hafferty of Mercy’s Residence Special Care Home for the warm and caring home you provided Dad and the Doctors, Nurses and staff of 4SW for making Dad’s final days so comfortable.
