I have many fond memories. One highlight is when I was 16 years old. A very fortunate teen to go to vacationing in Venezuela for two weeks with Peggy and her parents. Remember the twelve story jewelry store? I reminisce about it each time that I wear my beautiful bangle that Don & Evelyn purchased for me. Don was a good teacher to show how to barter. I will always remember his quaint laugh. My sincere condolences to each of you.

Evelyn and family: Ann and I are so sorry to hear of Don's passing. He was always so kind to me when I was growing up, and I have many fond memories of him from my early years. I remember years ago I was riding my bike by his
gas station in Minto, and stopped in to say Hi. He invited me to drive with him to the stock car races in Barker's Point that evening where he had a race car competing. He explained that because he was busy at his garage he was late, and that the stock car and crew had already departed, so we would have to make time. After getting the OK from my folks, we set off. Route 10 wasn't the road it is today and was rough with many turns. We straightened out most of them on that drive and made the trip in record time. When Dad asked me how the races were the next morning, I told him the most exciting race was driving to Barker's Point with cousin Don. I'll always remember his laugh and dry wit, and that twinkle in his eye. RIP Donnie.

He was so compassionate to everyone and to the people of Haiti. I am so sorry I haven’t been in touch with you but will connect very soon. I will post some pictures of Don in Haiti of which there are many. My family will be praying for you. Jody Graham

Evelyn and family,
It saddens us dearly to hear of the passing of Don. Growing up next door to him and Dad working with him allowed us to cross paths quite a bit. He always had a story to tell, and a joke or two to make you smile. He will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
Kindest regards,
Murray and Shelby Perry

My sympathy to the family at this time of great loss. I never knew Don well but remember when he first started drilling that he drilled a well for my dad in New Zion ( Borden Ackerson) I was just a kid but remember the outdoor pump and how the well never went dry. I remember meeting Don later in life when I was in the RCMP in Digby and he and Billy were down our way drilling wells. It was always nice to see them as it reminded me of my roots in Minto / New Zion. Of course they knew all my family so that was nice for me to talk with them about times past. I often stopped in the police car to chat with them or saw them on the ferry to St. John. May God Bless you and comfort you during this time and glad for the life Don lived and the service he gave to others.

Evelyn and family. I am sorry to hear of Donnie's passing. I have many fond memories of part time working at the FINA garage in Minto while I was completing high school. Donnie was a very fine gentleman. He was compassionate, caring, helpful and professional to so many people in Canada and I think of Haiti as well.
I had been away from Minto probably for 50 years and was in the process of closing the sale of my Minto homestead and ran into a well problem. I thought who will I ever call for help? Donnie was right there for me when I contacted him. A great friend!
Please pass my sympathy to the remaining members of the fine Mowat and Jones families I knew as a kid in Minto during the 1960's
