Obituary of Beverley Anne Calabrese
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Beverley Anne Calabrese of Douglas Harbour, NB on Monday, June 30, 2014 while at the Lake. Born in Dartmouth, NS, Bev is predeceased by her parents Hume and Lenore (Lee) Ellis. Bev taught generations of families through her 30+ years of teaching at Minto Memorial High School. Whether it was her role as librarian, English teacher, tutor, or Vice-Principal she touched nearly everyone in the community through her devotion to her students and her passion for education. As a further commitment to her students, she completed her Masters of Education at the University of New Brunswick in 1993. Bev is survived by her loving husband of 41 years Michael, her two sons Bradley (Chanelle) and Darren (Tammy), and her granddaughter Harriet. In addition, Bev also leaves behind her two sisters Janet Moses (Don) and Barbara Ryan (Vince). Beverley’s other passions came from family, friends and time spent in her garden. The care put into everything from ‘the fence in’, was a point of pride that she loved to showcase while entertaining with a glass of homemade wine on the deck. Her untimely loss will be felt throughout the entire community, but most amongst her family and friends with whom she shared the best moments in her wonderful life. A memorial service will take place at the Fire Hall in Douglas Harbour, NB at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2014 with Minister John Cathcart officiating. A reception will immediately follow in Beverley’s garden at the Calabrese home. For those who wish, donations in Beverley’s name may be made to the Minto Public Library.
