I was so sad to hear of her passing at bingo Tuesday after the holiday . Irene was always happy joking around at my table, I always looked forward to arrive at my table seeing her smile and share a good conversation with her: I even got her to dance with me on Friday's afternoon music get togethers. My visits at the villa won't be the same without her I will miss her dearly such a good sport!! may you rest in peace my friend xox

So very sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of this great lady. She could beat anyone in the Cove in a Kayak race and was up for any adventure. I remember going blueberry picking with Irene and a few family memories, by the time I had arranged myself to get down to some serious picking she had her pail full ready to go home. What a tremendous presence she was in the Cove. Always had a smile on her face and a helping hand. I also spent a few winter Months in Florida when Jean and Irene were there. We went to Bingo a few times and I very quickly found out that you do not "mess" with Irene when you play Bingo...No Talking! That was especially hard for me. So glad the Roy family had so many amazing years with this "strong" lady. She will be missed, but I know she had a very strong faith in God and had already set up a plan in Heaven to watch over her beloved family. Betty MacDonald

Our heartfelt sympathies to the Roy family. We always felt so welcomed by Aunt Irene (and Uncle John) when our family visited Grand Lake. We were totally impressed at how active and fit she was as she aged! The obituary mentioned a memory of Irene sitting on the dock with her legs dangling in the water. Going through some of our old pictures, we came across one from 2017 of Aunt Irene and Dad doing just that! (See attached photo) May all your loving memories of your mom help comfort you during this sad time. It sure isn’t easy saying good-bye to a parent.
