Obituary of David Robert Pineo

It is with deep sorrow that the family of David Robert Pineo announces his passing on October 22, 2024, at the age of 77, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Bethesda, Maryland, USA, David was a cherished partner, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him.

David had many talents, was an avid reader, and was known for his expertise in building design and estimation throughout his career. He embraced life with a positive outlook, always saying that “everything is wonderful,” a sentiment that brought joy to those around him.

David is survived by his beloved partner, Rhoda Duplessis, and his children: Jeremy, Nick (Kirsten), Jon (Allison), and Melissa (Adam) Beers. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Brayden, Ty, Logan, Ella, Owen, Jaynie, Charlotte, and Ben. He also shared a special bond with Rhoda’s family, including her son Nathan (Tammy) Duplessis, and grandchildren Noah and Elisabeth.

David is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie and Linda Davidson.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Clara Pineo, as well as the mother of his children, Jane.

David will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, sharp intellect, and deep love for his family. His warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In accordance with David’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date at his beloved camp to honor his memory, alongside his dog Buddy, who passed before him.
