Obituary of Bertie Belle Hetherington

The death of Bertie Belle Hetherington of Chipman, NB occurred Friday, October 4, 2024 at the Chalmers Regional Hospital.

Born in New Maryland, NB on October 27, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Sarah (Burtt) Forbes.

Survived by sons, Eric and Sandy Hetherington (Judy); daughters, Donna Hetherington, Bonny Long and Dixie Long; sisters-in-law, Esther Forbes and Wilma Hagerman;  8 grandchildren, Derek (Gina), Terry Friars (Chris), Kyle (Tiffany), Corey Long, Heather and Christina (Stephane), Owen (Amanda), Lauren (Alexis), and 6 great grandchildren, Spencer Walton, Cameron Friars, Emily Friars, Joanna Hetherington, Samantha Long and Mackenna Long; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Bertie was predeceased by husband, Frank L. Hetherington in 1997; son, Richard Hetherington, Phyllis (Fulton) Hetherington; sons-in-law, James Long and Jerry Long; grandson, Adam Long; brothers, C. Hedley, Peter (Maxine) and Robert Forbes; sister, Dorothy Hetherington (Art); infant sister, Della.

Resting at Hogg Funeral & Cremation Services (10 King Street, Minto, NB) with visitation on Sunday from 2-4PM. Funeral Service will take place at Chipman United Church 1:00PM Monday, October 7th, 2024. Interment will take place in Redbank United Church Cemetery. For those who wish, donations made to the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
