Obituary of Raymond Cormier

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Gerald “Raymond” Cormier announce his passing on Saturday, July 13^th, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers hospital in Fredericton, NB while surrounded by his family.

Born in Minto, he was the son of the late Frederick and Aurore (Robichaud) Cormier.

Ray will be dearly missed by his daughter, Caitlin Mott (Andrew); son, Gavin Reid Cormier; grandson, Torin Mott; chosen grandchildren, Chantal, Aiden and Owen; brothers, Rudolph, Rollin (Karen), and Regis; sister, Rachel Flower (Lyndon); several nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his brother, Roger Cormier; sisters, Rose Brown, Rita Madore and Ronalda Davidson; nephew, Matthew Cormier.

Ray’s larger than life personality and quick wit will be cherished forever by all who knew him. He was affectionately known as a great father, a loving son, a favourite uncle and a lifelong friend. He radiated a light so bright that it’s afterglow will continue to shine in his memory.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00AM on Friday, July 19^th 2024 at the Minto Community Chapel (10 King Street, Minto NB E4B 3N5). A celebration of his life will continue immediately following the service at the Minto Senior’s Hall (11 O’Leary Lane, Minto) where refreshments will be served. For those who wish, Raymond’s family requests that donations be made in his memory to; The Heart & Stroke Foundation; The Lung Association or The Cancer Society.
