Obituary of Edgar Joseph Legere
Edgar Joseph Legere of Minto, died peacefully on January 29, 2024 at Fredericton Hospice. He was the son of the late Angus and Genevieve (Richard) Legere of Minto.
He is survived by his sisters Mary Ann Legere (Laurie) of Fredericton, Lena Gallant (Rheal) of New Maryland, Anita Beauchamp (late Andre) of Montreal and Rita MacDonald (Terry) from Fredericton as well as brothers Gerry Legere (Diane) of Bathurst and Leo Legere (late Francoise) of Montreal. Also survived by his loving step-children, Danny Clarke (Darlene), Randy Clarke and Scott Johnson (Margaret); Ann Borrebach (Al), Heather Crawford (Howard), Kim Godin (Todd) and Dawn Johnson; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Edgar was predeceased by his first wife Jacqueline, his second wife and the love of his life Mary Johnson Legere and by his brother Emery Legere.
Not having children of his own, Edgar so loved and appreciated his step-children and especially his step-grandchildren whom he enjoyed immensely and thoroughly enjoying attending their hockey games. He also loved to sing country and folk songs, and nothing was more fulfilling to him than singing with his karaoke machine when not watching his favorite Montreal Canadian Hockey team.
There will be no visitation. Funeral Service will take place from the Minto Community Chapel (10 King Street, Minto) on Saturday, February 3rd 2024 at 11:00AM with reception to immediately follow at the Minto Senior’s Hall (11 O’leary Lane). Interment will take place in late spring. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Fredericton Hospice Palliative Care Resource Network Inc. would be greatly appreciated by the family.
