Obituary of Marey Rosa McKinnon

The family of Marey Rosa Hachey of Minto announce her passing on Saturday, October 21 at Farraline Place in Fredericton.

Born in Springhill, NS, she was the daughter of the late Michel and Angele (Comeau) Hachey.

Rose was very passionate about singing.  She was a member of the "Elm City Echoes" chorus with her daughter in Fredericton, NB.  Then she was in a Quartet.  After that she moved to Miramichi, NB to be near where her daughter lived at the time. They joined the Miramichi Melodies chorus.  She enjoyed ceramics where she made a Christmas Village for her daughter, dishes for herself, and other countless things.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Dunlay (Gary) of Fredericton; a sister, Bertha Priest of Sarnia, ON and a brother, Pastor Andrew Hachey (Martine) of Jacksonville, NB as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her sister Louise Martin, and her 2 brothers, Arthur and Anthony.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 am, Thursday, October 26, 2023 from Holy Rosary Catholic Church followed by interment in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Hardwood Ridge, NB. For those who wish, the family suggests donations to The Red Cross Society.
