I was so sorry to read about Tom's passing. He often stopped to chat when I was going for a walk on Sand Point Road in the summer. I'll miss his smile & warm greetings. I hope that you will have great memories to cherish forever.

I was saddened to read of Tommy's death on the website today. I remember Tom from years ago (sometime in the 90's??) when I was instructing an adult learning class in the MEMS school in the old Art room in the lower level. The Minto Literacy Council decided to offer a free 10-week Computer Literacy Course for Seniors and "Tommy" (as we knew him) was one of a group of 8-10 who signed up to attend each Friday morning. He kept the whole group (made up mostly of seniors laughing from week to week as they worked through the course plan and got practice setting up e-mail accounts, sending messages, and trying their hands at some educational software games on some computers in the room. I believe that the group welcomed the social aspect of the whole morning working together, as much as getting the opportunity to ask questions about computers in the convenience of their home community with others whose faces or names were familiar. My sincere condolences to the family. May the memories you shared with him carry you through your times of grief.

My deepest sympathy to Tom's family at this sad time, and to the many
friends who will miss him. Tom was my friend too and I was talking to him just last week. We had a great laugh about the fun we had on Valentine's Day when he finally talked me into going out and seeing his camp, the home he loved so much! He introduced me to Mabel and Ethyl (his two girls), and the flock of deer he had been feeding came in to visit. Because of his quick wit and great sense of humor, he made it a really memorable day. He made sure I saw pictures of his grandchildren as he was very proud of them. He told me that day that when his time on earth was over he hoped he would die right there at home close to nature. Tommy got his wish and I am grateful for that.

Danny, we were shocked to see this news this morning. We’re so sorry. He was a great companion for my mom (Neva) in her later years, and they laughed often together. Your dad was a character and he will be missed.
