Obituary of Geraldine Quigley

It is with deep sadness and heavy, broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mom at home on 6 Nov 2021 while surrounded by her loving family. Born in North Minto, New Brunswick, Mom was the daughter of the late Harold and Minnie (Tucker) Quigley.

Left behind to mourn her loss is her loving husband Andre Chayer, daughters Kim Thornton (Danny) and Lori Geneau (Chris Samson), four beautiful grandchildren Alyssa Renee and Jayden Samson, Brett and Alex Thornton, step daughter Tammy Caissie (Frank), step son Shawn Spurrell (Louise), two step granddaughters Alison and Aeden Spurrell, brothers Harold and David Quigley, chosen sister and life-long friend Doreen Gallant, several special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mom enjoyed her years working at the North Minto Hospital from 1967-1979 then decided to work in the private sector for Holy Rosary Parish 1979-1991. She loved spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Edward Geneau, father of their 2 daughters, brothers Donnie, Jackie, Corby and sisters Margaret Cosman (Nan) and Velma Miller, nephew Sheldon Miller, brother-in-law Harold Miller, Brother-in-law William (Bill) Cosman, sisters-in-law Faye Quigley and Elaine Quigley and niece Carole Cosman.

Mom wanted to send out a special thank you to Dr. Haynes and wife Becky for their support and care over many years and also the Extramural Nurses, especially Natalie Maston for being the sunshine Mom needed during her darkest days.

At Mom’s request there will be no visitation but a celebration of her life will be held at Trinity United Church on Wednesday, 10 Nov 2021 @ 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Trinity United Church would be greatly appreciated by the family. Gone but never Forgotten.

Masks are mandatory and will need to provide proof of vaccination and government issued ID for service.

Miss Me-But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set on me

I want no rites in a gloom filled room

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little -but not too long

And not with your head bowed low

Remembers the love that we once shared

Miss me -but let me go

For this is a journey that we all must take

And each must go alone

It’s all a part of the Master’s plan

A step on the road to home
