Obituary of Robert Walter Atyeo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father Robert “Bob” Walter Atyeo of Minto, NB occurred Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Bob was a life time member and 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus Council #3502 Minto and Council #0620 Fredericton. Daddy, Bob was born December 2, 1931. Born in Maquapit Lake, NB he was the son of late Thomas and Hilda (Shattock) Atyeo. Survived by his loving wife, Lillyanne (Richard) Atyeo; sons, John (Cathy), Roger (Linda) and Chris (Cherie); daughters, Anne Galbraith (Bernard ‘Jackie’) and Patricia Lafferty (Mark); step daughter, Odetta (Ivan) Vienneau; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Smith. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Donia Thibodeau in 1990; brothers, Thomas, Charles and Albert; sisters, Lillian Thompson and Vi McCoy. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the North Minto Residence for providing Dad’s home away from home and the Extra Mural Team for the extended loving care and laughter over the past 5 years. Also to the Dr’s, Nurses and staff of the Dr. Everett Chalmers and Saint John Regional Hospitals and Palliative Care Unit. Your kindness and compassion did not go unnoticed and will not be forgotten. In keeping with Bob’s wishes there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Minto. Interment to take place in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery, Hardwood Ridge, NB at a later date. For those who wish, donations made to the NB Heart and Stroke, Diabetic Society or Holy Rosary Catholic Church or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
